Our Ministry Philosophy:
At CrossLife Ministries, when we plant a church, we want it to be a unique expression of Christ. Spirituality starts (justification: faith in the crucified and resurrected Christ) and continues with the cross (santification: taking up His cross to be transformed, thus impacting others).
Many churches today focus on the business of "doing church" at the expense of Christlikeness. Our MAIN PURPOSE within the church is to see Christ formed in each one of us. Often this happens through our daily sufferings. Paul told the Corinthians:
"We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed, perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal body (II Cor. 4:8-10)."
As we die to sin daily and embrace our problems as opportunities to enter into His presence, then His life begins to be manifested in and through us. We want people to know that CrossLife is really a place where Christ's life is seen in us. This is what makes us different. Most churches have the externals: budgets, mission plans, governing boards, service projects, planned instruction times etc.. However that is NOT what makes us unique in our world. Many of these things will not even last when eternity comes. What lasts and what matters is Christ shining through each of our unique personalities, serving Him as an outflow of our having been changed and being changed from within. We will never lose sight of this is in everything we do.
So when you come to church, you ought to find people who are at different stages in this journey of "Christlikeness". In fact, we are like a spiritual hospital, helping each person move forward in his/her goal of seeing Christ formed in them. We believe this occurs best in LIFE groups.
Our Mission
We seek to bring all men to the Cross whereby they discover Christ's life through Connecting, Growing and Sharing within the context of newly planted churches worldwide.
Church Motto: Real Life at the Cross
Church Verse: " I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)
Vision: Proclaim Christ in AZ, the USA & worldwide in order to build worshipping Bodies for His glory.
In AZ there are areas of need that can be overlooked when organizations consider church planting.
In Southern AZ here are a few areas of interest to us:
- Hispanic church planting
- American Indian Reservation church ministry
- Apartment dweller "house churches"
- College Students
In the Southwest:
- El Paso ( a very needy city for more churches)
- Mormon communities in Northern AZ and Utah In the USA:
- Any smaller town or city in New England
In the 10/40 Window:
- Check out the Joshua Project to see where the UPG are located. It is our policy to not publish the locations of where we work in the 10/40 Window. You can get more information by calling our office if you are interested in sponsoring a CrossLife church plant among the UPG's worldwide.
Our passion is to plant grace oriented baptistic glocal churches in many areas of our world----- like the ones listed above---- until the Lord returns.
Our mission strategy to accomplish this is by mobilizing mission laity and leaders committed to bring all men to the Cross whereby they can discover Christ's life through Connecting, Growing and Sharing-----all within the context of building a local expression of Christ's Body----the church.
Our mission centers around these 3 biblical concepts: Connect, Grow, Share.
Learning to CONNECT to Christ as your Savior is the beginning point in knowing God(justification). This decision is a one time decision whereby you are transferred from the "kingdom of darkness" to the "kingdom of light" (Col.1:13,14). You recieve Him by trusting Christ as your Savior by faith (John 1:12). At this moment, you become His child forever (John 5:24,25). Once you have made this decision, you can begin the next step in the journey: growing in Him.
Following Christ as Lord of your life by letting Him GROW your character---- in the context of all life’s relationships and trials---- is what distinguishes us as growing disciples. Unlike the earlier salvation decision, this decision of submitting to His Lordship by being His growing disciple is a lifelong process (called "sanctification"). Rom. 12:1,2; Luke 9:23ff
Expanding the Body of Christ happens as we SHARE the good news of Christ with others and help them grow as disciples by connecting them to CrossLife church. Sharing your life in a “Christ focused” church also involves using your spiritual gifts in that Body to serve Him. Eph.6:19,20I Cor. 12,13; Eph. 4:11ff
