Welcome

Director
John Jones and his wife are Texans transplanted to Tucson. They met at a Young Life meeting when they were college students at the Univ. of Texas in Austin. Jenny was involved in Young Life both in High School and College. John was involved in the Navigators. It is in his college years that John developed a passion for cross cultural ministry. While attending Dallas Seminary, John was pastor of a Chinese church. For most of his 27 years of ministry, John has ministered cross culturally among the Chinese people, serving as both a missionary and pastor. Tucson is truly a "melting pot" of peoples from all over the world. John sees his previous experiences as quite helpful in ministering to all kinds of people. He wants to see many people know Christ personally in this unchurched city.

Director's family
John and Jenny have two married children and a son still in High School. All of his children have a love for the Lord. His oldest is married to a college pastor serving in N.C.. They have a new baby. His second daughter, after graduating from Southwestern Seminary, is on staff at a Bible church in the Houston area, ministering to High school/Jr. High girls.  Her husband is still in graduate school.  John's son is a student at Mtn. View High school in Tucson.

Brief History
CrossLife Ministries started out of a rich local history. First Baptist Church of Tucson started in 1881, the same year of the shootout at the OK Corral! This church, for most of its history, was led by Dr. Richard Beal. He served as their pastor for 50 years before he retired in 1969. During his ministry the church grew and had an extensive ministry to university students. However, like many downtown churches, FBC began to decline in the 80's and eventually closed in 2008.   As the Director, John Jones believes churches have life cycles just as people do. We celebrate the rich history of FBC. It lasted for 127 years and most of these years were good years!

CrossLife Ministries seeks to carry on the legacy of Dr. Beal in church planting both locally and around the world.
